Monday Madness presents .........................

Choose ........

1. Skipping or Running ---- SKIPPING! It's much more fun and dorky!

2. Coke or Pepsi---- It's not that big of a deal to me anymore; I used to prefer diet coke.

3. Rock or Hip Hop---- Old time Rock and Roll!

4. Laptop or Desktop---- I'm sure they each have their own special place in life.  For home, I prefer the desktop.

5. Cold Weather or Hot Weather  ------ I would much rather sweat my butt off than freeze it off; it just makes me feel wealthier.

6. Swimming or Bicycling---- I'm currently trying to bring bicycling back into my life regularly; now that I think about it, I could also swim.  Both are great!

7. Chocolate or Vanilla ---- Chocolate!

8. Day or Night ---- I have to choose????  Night ! It's generally much more peaceful than the day.

9. Looks or Brains ----- Luckily I have both, but if I had to choose, I would say brains!

10. Cable, DSL, or Dial-Up -----Since I can't miss what I do not have and I have cable, I say cable!

From Otto's Monday Madness...................................................

1. Do you prefer to be out in the sun or in the shade?  It depends on the temperature; I enjoy the nice warm sun, but on a super hot day, I would prefer the shade.

2. Regarding the walls in your house, do you prefer neutral colors or bright colors? I've always had neutral, but it would be nice to have some more color in my dream house.

3. When hanging pictures on your walls, do you like things symmetric or asymmetric? asymmetric

4. How about where you'd like to live; country or city? I am pretty sure that I prefer the country, but the city also has its benefits.

5. Your blog; Blogger, Blogdrive, Blog-City, or another one altogether? Blogger it is.

6. Email; Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, or other?  Hotmail

7. Air conditioning or just a fan when it's hot at night? Sometimes but not often air conditioning would be nice, but it really isn't necessary overall here.

8. Dinner; seafood or steak? Seafood - specifically crab legs, shrimp & lobster tail (in that order.)

9. Your all-time favorite music media; CD's, cassette tapes, or vinyl (or 8-tracks)? CD!

10. When learning a new software program, do you find it easier to follow a book or an online tutorial? huh? It's easier to just ask somebody, but I am one to read directions.

Here is one question for you !!  In my answer to #7, would the correct punctuation be, " Sometimes, but not often, air conditioning would be nice, but it really isn't necessary overall here. "  or something else?

CRV stands for California redemption value.  It is charged to us every time we buy any beverages in glass, plastic or aluminum.

I have lived here a year now and finally figured out how I can get my money back.  CRV is not a deposit so it isn't as simple as bringing the containers to the store from which they were bought.  Now that I know where a station is, it is actually easier than bringing it back to the store.  I don't have to be concerned about whether or not the store sells a certain beverage.

At the recycle station, I was given the option to count them or have them weighed.  Of course I already had them counted and organized in their original containers, so I had them weighed just to see if it came out to the same amount.   Take a guess - do you think the value was the same whether they were weighed or counted?  Hmmmmmmmmmm - have you already guessed?  Well just as you may have guessed, I would have been cheated by $1.07 if I had not counted them.

The weather here is great!

Okay.... what was I going to blog about? oh yeah, my birth certificate.

I have been carrying around my certified, embossed birth certificate since I was 17 and went to Mexico with Grandma S. That thing has come in handy since I lost my SScard sometime in 1981. Today, I was forced to hand it over as I applied for my passport. They need the embossed, certified copy not a copy of it. It was difficult but I did it. I will supposedly get it back the same time I receive my passport. I'll get it back.

Where am I going? you ask; nowhere yet - but I will be prepared.

Here are a few answers to some of Windy's Random Questions/Random Days.....

What do you drink to cool off? warm up? get energy? relax? To cool off, I would drink cold water with no ice (it's already cold.) For warming and relaxing, I have hot chocolate when I want the sweet treat and hot herbal tea when I just want the warming flavor. My herbal tea of choice is Africa's Miracle; it's a redbush tea that tastes better than green but is just as good or better for you. I don't drink anything to help energize me. Actually, the same teas I drink for chilling are the ones I drink for energizing; that tells me my energy comes from within.
