from Otto's monday madness

My favorite........

Quote - the one I remember the most is from Walt Disney and even that I don't know exactly, but it goes something like this... find something you truly enjoy doing, do it to the best of your ability and you will never have to work again (I sure hope that was his)

Movie - A walk in the clouds, Far and Away and most recently... Under the Tuscan Sun - there are more so I guess I don't really have a "favorite." Now ...even better than the one I just mentioned I just watched "Secondhand Lions" on Tuesday - Great MOVIE!

color - purplish - in general, subtle not hot or flashy - I like the "mexican" colors

beverage - it used to be fresca, but I haven't had much of that since I moved, so I guess now really... it's green tea for hot and lemon water for cold. I do still drink cokes though, but I'm trying to leave them behind.

font (or back) - I Don't have a favorite font!!!!! matter of fact I hate to get hung up on looking for the perfect one for a resume, so I just go with what's on default - i think that's times new roman.

meal - Crab legs is the meal that I crave for a special occasion. In general, I love a chicken anything - today, i think i will actually make me a spinach quesadilla (speaking of food)

book - I haven't read "books" lately, but here are a few that really struck me : Mutant Message Down Under and The Celestine Prophecy. I just realize that the book i thought I was going to re- read is not the one that I've already read. hmmmm - I may read it then.

word - How could I possibly have a favorite word? okay, you forced me into it - GROOVY!

animal - I love the furry ones, but I don't get to touch the lions and tigers - I guess I'll stick with cats and dogs.

fragrance - anything "fresh" but i also like this oil i have from bath and bodyworks ; it's eucalyptus/spearmint

That's all folks! I must study now - it's my job.

I'm not going to talk about "kidneys" yet. Right now I need to sound off about the new and improved gas pumps.

I guess the pump nozzles were modified due to a small possibility of back up of fumes and yadda yadda - KABoom! I hate the things. I have to hang on tight to position it just right which usually takes me 3 or 4 times to get. If I don't have a hold of it just right, it shuts off. To top it all off, which I never do by the way, after I'm finished pumping the gas, it still spurts some on my car.

If you have any helpful hints, let me know!

From Monday Madness ......

1. If you had the means, what type of limousine would you rent?
2. Where would this limousine take you?
3. Would it just be transportation for you to get to a social gathering, or would the ride BE the social gathering?
4. Who would you take with you in this limo?
5. Have you ever ridden in a limousine? If so, where to? If not, would you like to?

1. I'm not sure I ever would rent a limo even if I had the means. If I did though, it would probably be the original type. Certainly you people have seen some different types out there lately, haven't you? (Hummer and other super long SUV's) All the answers I've read so far, just say a good one or a long one.
2. If I did, the limo would probably take me to some gathering in which I felt an overwhelming urge to make a statement like..."LOOK AT ME!"
3. I might as well get the most out of it; the entire ride would be a social event.
4. That depends on where I was (which state) and where my life was at that point.
5. No I haven't and no, it hasn't made it to my list of things to do (before I die- sounds morbid?).

from LULU's Lines

TRIGGER 1::: Golden brown reminds..........

me of nothing

TRIGGER 2::: The more I...........................

think about it, the closer I am to a conclusion (sometimes.)

other times.... the crazier I feel.

Petite I am NOT!

However, I am Short.

My latest dilemma is finding "exercise" pants that are not one foot or more too long for me.

Most good stores do by now have a "petite" section for casual business/dress clothes for women. Now I also need exercise pants that will not hang one foot or more below my feet.

Last weekend I went to a sporting goods store looking for yoga pants or whatever.... and all the womens pants were much too long for me. Now you're thinking to yourself 'well she can hem them' - No! #1 hemming pants changes the style and often makes them look really stupid and #2 I DON'T SEW!

I solved that dilemma by purchasing boys pants - I am the size of the largest possible boy!

Today, I also found a pair of women's pants, but they are too long. I decided i will just deal with it by scuffing around like a teenie bopper.

Well......................... when in Rome!!!!!!

Jeans! Why do people love them so??????

I understand why they first were developed for the miners; they're durable! But...................................................

They're hot in the summer and cold in the winter! What is good about that?

I admit that sometimes I do find them comfortable which upon analyzing it, I think it is in neutral weather.

(I just took the dog for a walk in my jeans) Love ya!

School ...... wonderful!

I find it interesting that I went to university about 12 years after graduating from high school and now, about 11 years after earning my BBA, I am back in school.

I've briefly mentioned that I'm going back to school. I mentioned massage therapy, but I feel the need to be more specific. I am working toward a certificate in Oriental Body Therapy and am currently enrolled in Oriental Medicine 1, Anatomy, Circulatory Massage, Biology, Business Practices and ethics and Tui Na Hand Techniques. That is 17.5 hours of class each week; it's a full load.

My first week I was primarily concerned with simply getting to class and buying my books; the second week I've been trying to get a routine down. Having a routine is a necessity for I don't want to fall behind in class.

With this certificate, I will be able to work as a massage therapist. Of course that will be after obtaining the proper licensing through the police department after taking required national and state tests.

I decided to go this route (OBT) because I want to reach a finishing point as soon as possible and work in the field. Many of the students are working towards a master's degree which takes at least 3 years and 8 months. That's a major committment! Going the OBT route has me in some master's courses which I will be able to use if I choose to continue after getting my feet wet in the field.

Monday Madness by Otto

The perfect setting for a picnic................... for me today would be outside the cottage (total fantasy) before the rocks which go down to the ocean.... listening to the waves slap against the rocks and enjoying the breeze.

What is in the picnic basket ? you ask..... some perrier (I like the bubbly water), some crackers, cheese and grapes. I'm keeping it simple today.

Who is joining me for this picnic? I could very easily be alone just enjoying the serenity, but I would prefer being with my closest friend, Susan and of course my dog, Bravo can run around freely.

From Lulu's Lines.....

I enjoy the simple things in life. I will elaborate some other time.

My hope is that I will enjoy learning all that I will be learning about Oriental medicine for at least a year and that I also put it to good use afterward in a new, enjoyable career. I will elaborate on this also soon.
